Origins Travel Group V.O.F. (trading as Egypt Travel Planner) attaches great importance to protecting your personal data. In this privacy policy we explain which data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

2. Which personal data do we collect?

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Contact details: name, email address, phone number
• Travel details: travel dates, travel party, special requests
• Communication: messages sent through the contact form or by email
• Usage data: anonymised website statistics through our self-hosted Umami analytics

3. Why do we collect your data?

We use your personal data for:

• Processing and following up your trip enquiry or contact request
• Preparing and performing a travel agreement
• Sending you relevant information about your booking
• Improving our services on the basis of anonymised statistics
• Complying with legal obligations

4. Legal basis for processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract: when you book or request a trip
• Legitimate interest: for responding to contact requests
• Legal obligation: for complying with laws and regulations
• Consent: for a newsletter or marketing, provided you have given your consent

5. Sharing data with third parties

We share your data with third parties only when this is necessary to carry out your trip (such as local guides, hotels and transport providers) or when we are legally required to do so. We never sell your data to third parties.

For website statistics we use Umami, privacy-friendly and cookieless analytics that we host ourselves in our own environment, managed by us. No statistics are shared with external analytics services. Umami does not place cookies and does not store personal data: IP addresses are anonymised immediately and are not retained.

6. Retention period

We do not keep your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. We keep booking-related data for the statutory retention period of 7 years. Contact requests that do not lead to a booking are deleted no later than 1 year after the last contact.

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorised access or misuse. Our website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights as a data subject:

• Right of access: you can ask which of your data we process
• Right to rectification: you can have inaccurate data corrected
• Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your data
• Right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Right to data portability: you can request your data in a readable format

9. Lodging a complaint

Are you not satisfied with the way we handle your data? You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with the data protection authority in your country of residence.

12. Visits to your personal proposal page

When you open your personal trip proposal page through the link we email to you, we record the time of the visit and the type of device (phone, tablet or computer). This data is linked to your proposal and we use it only to tailor our follow-up, for example so that we do not remind you unnecessarily about a proposal you have already viewed. We do not place any cookies for this and do not store your IP address. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in following up your enquiry properly (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the visit data for a maximum of 12 months and do not share it with third parties.
