Egypt Travel Planner is an initiative of Origins Travel Group V.O.F., founded by Guido de Hooge and Lars Janssen in Amsterdam. We plan private, tailor-made tours of Egypt: no group, no fixed route, but a trip that fits what you want to see and how much time you have.

- Lars designs the English-language trips and is your contact, from your enquiry until you are home again.

- We work with a fixed local partner who arranges your guide, your transport and everything on the ground.
- Guarantees
- Your complete trip is covered by VZR Garant and the Dutch Calamity Fund. Our participant number with VZR Garant is 134764, which you can check on the VZR Garant participant page (in Dutch, listed under our Dutch brand Egyptereis.nl). What both guarantees mean for you is explained under Guarantees.
- Association

Our story
We believe in travelling with attention: time for the temples, for the people and for an early morning at Abu Simbel, instead of a programme crammed from dawn to dusk.
That is why on every excursion you have a private, English-speaking Egyptologist, just for your party, and your own driver. Your trip is never a product from a catalogue, but the result of a conversation.

Founder & travel specialist
Co-owner of Origins Travel Group. Guido keeps the organisation behind your trip in order: the business, the finances and the systems we use to build your trip proposal and your travel plan. That leaves Lars free to focus entirely on designing your trip.
Lars Janssen
Founder & Egypt travel specialist
Co-owner of Origins Travel Group and the designer of the English-language trips. Lars draws up the route with you, chooses the hotels and works with our fixed partner in Egypt to make it happen. He replies to your enquiry himself and stays your contact while you travel.
Franziska Palgen
Travel specialist for German-speaking travellers
Franziska plans the trips of our German-speaking travellers at Urlaub Ägypten, our German sister site. A passionate traveller with great curiosity about cultures and people. With her background in sales and marketing she combines organisational talent with an eye for detail. As an Advanced Open Water Diver she feels at home wherever the sea is part of the experience, the Red Sea first of all.
How we work
Every trip starts with your enquiry. Within one working day you get a personal reply from Lars with a few practical questions he needs for your route. He then sends you a route proposal, day by day. Once the route is right, a trip proposal with hotels and price follows. Nothing is booked until you agree.
We organise private trips only: no group tours and no shared guides. You travel at your own pace, in your own way. Only on a Nile cruise do you share the ship with other guests.
